| winter shower gels.

hello everyone!

- have made it through the first week back to school and work now - weekend is almost here - YAY!

Hope all of you are having a fantastic week! My week has gotten much better since Monday, although I am still trying to fight off this cold! Hopefully with the weekend to rest (and with the weather warming up a little bit more here), I will be completely over it by this upcoming Monday!

I have been in love with the shower gels I've been using throughout the colder months! I use two and tend to switch it up depending on my mood, haha.

The one on the left is from Sephora, Philosophy's Vanilla Birthday Cake. Smells absolutely divine, makes you feel like you are at a birthday party every time you shower. It actually captures the warm, vanilla, sugary scent of birthday cake and then there is a background scent, of what I feel smells like the candles being blown out. This shower gel really does do a fabulous job at replicating the scent of a birthday cake - very impressed! The formula of the product is just as good, creamy, suds up very well, and don't have to use too much at one time either! All in all, the Philosophy shower gels always please me - but this one I especially like!

The second shower gel I have been using is from Bath and Body Works. I always seem to have a Bath and Body Works product somewhere in my shower. Dark Kiss is a  scent that a lot of my friends and I instantly fell in love with. I find it to be a very good scent for the colder months as well. It has a little bit more of a musty scent to it - but it is quite appealing. The packaging says that it is a "...seductive blend of voluptuous berries, tempting blooms and night musk to unleash your most primal passions". I love taking showers with this shower gel when I'm going out somewhere at night, or I use it on an overcast/gloomy day - just brings my spirits up. It leaves a nice lingering scent on your skin as well - just as all the Bath and Body Works shower gels do!

Anyway happy Thursday, the weekend is nearing!

Lancome Blush - Winter Coquette

good morning everyone!

Sadly, it is Monday - luckily I have the day off of work and school! But tomorrow, I will be getting back into the grind of things, with it being the first day back at school from Christmas holidays! Not only is it the sad end to my holidays but, I had to take both my cats to the vet this morning and have discovered that one of them has a pretty severe heart murmur. Why do things have to pile up all at once?! Anyway, will be dealing with that!

On another note, I have decided to share a blush with all of you today, has been a while since I have reviewed one of those!

Have to be completely honest with all of you, this blush was free! I got to choose from a number of different products to accompany my purchase at Lancome. Being the blush lover I am, chose one of the darker shades - which is nice to put on my cheeks throughout the colder months :).

The shade of the blush looks a little bit lighter in the picture though. Instead of having more of a peachy tone to it, it's got more of a dark plum colour. It's definitely matte as well, and has a great texture and can easily be applied to your cheeks.

I particularly like wearing this shade throughout the winter because it gives my cheeks a nice rosy look, with no shimmer - so it looks like I have winter kissed cheeks at all times :).

The shade of this blush from Lancome is called, "Mauve Coquette", and it has worked its way into my daily makeup regime more and more. For being an absolutely free product, I must say I am quite pleasantly surprised!

I will end with that, hope all of you are having a much better Monday than I and I will be back to blog soon!

hair mask

hello friends!

It has indeed been a while since I have blogged last, was planning to over Christmas, but there just was not enough time to spare!

So here I am, starting fresh in the New Year, planning to blog a lot more. Although, to start the New Year off, I ended up catching a deadful cold :(. Has been going through a lot of my friends and family, so should have known I was bound to catch it at some point, no matter how many vitamins I shoveled into my mouth!

Anyway, there are a lot of products I have in store to share with you ladies, so hopefully I will be more on top of things from now on :)!

I know there has been a lot of hype and reviews on the product I am posting today, but I thought I would let you know what my thoughts are on it!

My hair has benefited from this product soooo much! As soon as I started using it, my hair felt much healthier - gave back a healthy glow to my hair, it felt way softer, and the frizziness being less than usual each time I used it. The thickness of my hair seemed to come back and let me tell you, this is awesome at detangling hair. If you have a hair do where you have to put hair spray in it and you are finding it hard to get the knots out, use this, and the knots quickly disappear!

The texture of this Deep Repair Mask is quite thick! You only have to use very little of this product. It is also recommended that you only use the product once-twice a week, which is why, I think,  this container has lasted me so long!

It is a little pricey, but the quality of the product is totally worth the money, and most importantly - it works! The container may look a little small, but I promise, in this case - a little goes a long way. The package will last you a while.

Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year!
Looking forward to the new things to come in 2013!

I have also been into making short videos, which is another reason why I haven't been blogging as much.

I feel like I should share it with you guys as well, so here is the link to it:

highlight of the day.

Hello lovelies!

Many apologies to the long time of no blogging from me! Been a super busy time for me, between school, my new job, and moving. Phew! Anyway, finally finished all my assignments and midterms, getting a little more used to my job, and sort of more settled in the new place :D. Thought it would be a good time to blog something!

As you all know, I have a pretty recent obsession with highlighters. Heard a lot of good things about this particular product and decided I would give it a try, since I was running low on my last highlighter powder I had purchased.

Hard Candy's "So Baked Bronzer" in the shade "Tiki", is an awesome highlighter to add to your collection, if you don't already own it!

The label claims that is is a bronzer...but you don't really get the bronzing effect out of it. It has a subtle shimmer to it, just enough to highlight features of your face.

I use this highlighter on my cupid's arrow, the bridge of my nose, some under my eyes, and a little over my brows and along my jaw line - just to add a little bit of a shine.

If you are in need of a new highlighter and don't want to pay an awful lot for it - this is the perfect product for you. It does its job, is super cheap, and has really cute packaging! I would say that this is a definite "win, win" product!

Hope all you ladies are having a good November so far - getting a bit chilly here in Canada now, brrrr.

xoxo.

deep autumn plums.

hello girlies,

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far!

I have really been enjoying wearing all of the beautiful fall colours. I have been making a combination of wearing deep, dark plums on my nails, lips, and eyes. I am just absolutely in love with this shade!

Firstly, I will start off with my nail colour:

O.P.I.'s "Every Month is Oktoberfest", is a beautiful deep, dark, plum shade, with gorgeous undertones of red and blue. Depending on which way this polish hits the light, it can have many different shades ranging from dark blue, to an almost maroon red. I LOVE the way this colour looks on my nails, a lot of people are asking me what shade I am wearing too! It's just beautiful. It is a perfect shade for the fall season, along with matches some of the other looks I have been wearing as well.

My eye makeup I have been wearing lately:

The eye shadow I have been using for the outer corner of my eyelid, is L'Oreal's Color Infallible in the shade "Burning Black". I have no idea why they called it that, I see more of a purple than black...oh well! Anyway, this eye shadow is wonderful - very pigmented, perfectly coloured - it matches almost bang on with O.P.I's "Every Month is Oktoberfest". The only downfall, I found, of this eye shadow is that it is very powdery which makes it almost impossible to have no shadow fall down onto your lower cheek while trying to apply. It's a very simple fix though, just hold some tissue where the powder will fall and you will have no problems :).

For the base of this look, I used Maybelline's Color Tattoo in the shade "Painted Purple". I found this a perfect colour to bring out the intensity of the other shade "Burning Black". It also does a very good job at holding all the eye shadow in place, this look lasted me a whole night with no smudging.

Finally, I will finish my post with the lip look I have been deeply in love with lately:

This deep, plumy, vampy colour is M.A.C's lipstick in the shade "Dark Side". I was a little reluctant in using such a dark colour, since I do not own a dark lipstick like this. Turns out, it matches my fair skin tone perfectly. I feel awesome when I wear this lipstick, haha. It is another perfect fall colour to bring out within the season!

What are your most favourite fall colours to wear altogether?
Are you a fan of dark lipsticks?

Enjoy your Sunday <3

xoxo.

candles of the moment.

Happy October everyone!!

The leaves have now turned into fabulous shades of red, orange, yellow, && brown. Have been taking my camera outside a lot lately (got a newwww camera!!! how exciting is that?! Canon EOS Rebel T3i && I am absolutely in LOVE with it! So much better than the little Canon Elf I was trying to use. Loved that one to bits, but is in no way comparable to my new one!). Have been taking pictures of the beautiful trees && the ground buried in gorgeous colour.

Just this past weekend was Canadian thanksgiving. My family all got together at my parents house and we indulged our taste buds with a delightful turkey dinner. Was delicious!

While my parents were preparing the food, I decided to go to Bath and Body Works to pick up some candles to set the scent for the atmosphere for the get together. Let me tell you, BOY was I a little bit late in getting myself in there on time to get all the fabulous fall scents. ALL of the soaps were gone, && most of the three wick fall candles were gone as well.

Luckily, I found a small counter with some single wicked candles. They had such a pretty design on the glass && was just a perfect size that I had to get them. If you don't want the large quantity that the three wick candles have to offer, yet want something that will last a little longer than the 4oz mini candles, these candles are perfect.

They had about four scents left, cannot remember them all because I was so delighted that  they actually had the scent "Leaves" left! Picked up two of the "Leaves" scent && " two of the "Farmstand Apple" scent as well, simply because they are such a perfect fall aromas.

I'm sure a lot of you already know what the "Leaves" candle smells like already! If I had to put it into words, the smell definitely reminds me of leaves, thanksgiving cooking, cinnamon, && best of all, reminds me of Halloween altogether (which, is a great definition of the month of October). It reminds me a little bit of the scent of mulled wine as well, if any of you have smelt that before. Bath and Body Works states that the scent "Leaves" is "[l]ike an afternoon spent playing in a pile of freshly fallen leaves, this fragrance embodies all the richness of the season and features a medley of ripe delicious apples, red berries and golden nectar". Well done Bath and Body Works! As usual, their scents are very very close to the actual label on the product. "Leaves"' happens to be a prime example!

If you are a fan of going to the apple orchard && picking out the finest, freshest apples - like I am - you will surely enjoy the scent of "Farmstand Apple". Let me tell you, this is an exact replica of an apple orchard scent. The smell of apple is just so apparent within this candle! As soon as I was done typing that sentence out, I checked the description of what Bath and Body works states about this candle, && look what they said!: "This sparkling orchard favorite reminds us of a bright sunny day picking apples. Made with notes of McIntosh apple, ripe pear blossom and woodsy oak". Like I said, very apple orchard-y.

Very pleased with these scents, lit them during the thanksgiving get together, && have them constantly burning throughout my apartment :).
I have found the true essence of fall.

What have you been doing to enjoy the autumn season?
What are some of your favourite Bath and Body Works candles?
